Also known as ethanal, is a naturally occurring organic compound and a key intermediate in the metabolism of alcohol. It's a colorless, flammable liquid or gas with a pungent, fruity odor. While naturally present in some foods and produced during alcohol metabolism, acetaldehyde is also used in industrial manufacturing.
