Anjou

Anjou, located in the western Loire Valley near the city of Angers, is a historic and versatile wine region known for both dry and sweet wines. It produces crisp whites from Chenin Blanc, ranging from zesty and mineral-driven to lusciously sweet in nearby Coteaux du Layon. Anjou also makes structured reds from Cabernet Franc, particularly in Anjou-Villages, and some of the Loire’s best rosés, including Rosé d’Anjou and Cabernet d’Anjou. The region’s diversity and Chenin Blanc’s adaptability make Anjou a key part of the Loire’s wine identity.
