Cinsault is a heat-tolerant red grape associated with southern France, especially the Rhône, Languedoc, and Provence, where it is often blended with Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. It produces light- to medium-bodied wines and is most often found in a blend. It is also historically important in South Africa as one of the parent grapes of Pinotage.
