Terroir
Terroir is the idea that a wine reflects the place where its grapes are grown. It includes factors such as climate, soil, elevation, slope, sunlight, rainfall & surrounding geography, all of which influence how the grapes ripen. Those conditions can affect acidity, fruit character, structure, aroma, and ultimately the personality of the finished wine. In simple terms, terroir is how a vineyard’s environment leaves its fingerprint on the wine.
