Basics of the Bordeaux Region

Travel southwest from the beautiful city of Paris and you will drive through some of the most idyllic French countryside imaginable. Upon entering the region of Bordeaux, the Atlantic breezes begin to fill the air along with the warmth of the Medoc sun; the unmistakable markers of the region. Here, the cool, continental areas of the Loire Valley to the north seem like a different country, as the weather is warmer, the cuisine slightly different and the dialect moves from Parisian provincial to presque Gaillacois (a little more country).
