Authenticity of Wine

Authenticity in wine is the idea that a bottle expresses something specific about where it came from, how it was grown, and the traditions behind it. A wine can feel authentic when its grape variety, climate, soil, farming choices, and regional identity come through clearly rather than being shaped primarily to fit a broad commercial style. That does not mean authentic wine must be rustic, natural, or made without technology. It means the wine has a sense of identity, whether that comes from a classic region, a distinctive vineyard, a traditional method, or a producer with a clear point of view.
