Low Alcohol Beverages
Purpose-made low-alcohol wines begin as conventional wine and then use technologies such as vacuum distillation, spinning-cone systems, or membrane filtration to remove part of the alcohol. Unlike naturally lighter styles, these products are designed specifically for consumers who want the flavor and ritual of wine with less alcohol per serving. The technical challenge is preserving aroma, texture, balance, and finish, since removing alcohol can also make a wine feel thinner or less complete. At their best, they offer a credible middle ground between traditional wine and alcohol-free alternatives, expanding choice without asking light drinkers to leave the category entirely.
